Hey lovelies!
I know I haven’t been posting much lately, but I am bringing my blog back to life by completing the #100DaysofFashion challenge. Similar to the #100DaysofHappy trend, I will be posting pictures to my instagram, twitter and blog for a hundred days. However, it will differ from the original hashtag challenge because I will be posting pictures of my outfits, which does make me happy.
This is my last year of school and I am making this the year where I do everything I have always wanted to do. One of my dreams is to be the next Anna Wintour, and be a fashion blogger. I know that replacing Anna Wintour is dreaming big, but I am going to do my best to be a Vogue-worthy fashion writer.
I will post my outfits a bunch at a time and I will explain the inspiration and where you can get the looks as often as I can.
Here’s to the next hundred days. Stay trendy my friends.
DAY ONE
This was my outfit on my first day of school in my last year of my undergrad at Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU). Skater skirts are without a doubt one of my favourite looks at the moment and they help to really emphasize my love of preppy fashion. My blouse’s high neck lace pays tribute to my love of vintage fashion, but it is styled in a way that it is not too old-fashioned or outdated. Paired with my oxfords and my beloved Great Gatsby tote bag, this outfit really shows how far I have come in university, while still being a fun and relatable look.
Blouse – Forever21
Skirt – Forever21
Oxfords – Aldo
Tote Bag – Chapters
DAY TWO
Though I am not much of a hippie, I have always been fascinated with bohemian fashion. I wanted to experiment with the look by adding my own twist to the traditional hippie look by adding a more “classic” twist to it, that is much more my style. Though it was a look that I didn’t regularly wear, I liked the experiment and going outside my comfort zone.
Top – Forever21
Skirt – American Apparel
Headband – My mother’s from the 80s
Ring – Aldo
DAY THREE
Whenever I think of classy women, Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy are always the first two that come to mind. They were exactly my inspirations when I put this outfit together. Both women wore simple sheath skirts and dresses with cardigans and then one statement piece, such as a hat or piece of jewelry. I do encourage all fashion bloggers to model themselves after one icon – its like a fun and classy way to play dress up without it being Halloween.
Jacket – Zara
Skirt – Plato’s Closet
Hat – Tristan’s
Heels – Winners
DAY FOUR
Teal has recently become one of my favourite colours, so buying this teal coloured skater skirt was a source of excitement for me. Lace is a classic fabric and I utilized it in such a way that it was modern and fun. I kept the top half of the outfit fairly simply, except for the blue and teal statement necklace that pulled the outfit together.
Skirt – Forever21
Top – Forever21
Necklace – Aldo
Shoes – Winners
DAY FIVE
Sometimes, the simplest look speaks the loudest. My blouse is a pale baby blue comes from the Zaraknit line and my skater skirt is paired with it because it pulls the outfit together without taking anything away from the overall look. I decided to be a little bit crafty and pair frilly socks with my Mary Janes, a throwback to 80s Madonna. And, of course, Michael Kors goes with any look!
Skirt – Topshop
Purse – Michael Kors
Socks – American Apparel
Shoes – Winners
Glasses – Fashion Crimes
5 days down – 95 more to go!!
