With John Green’s acclaimed novel Paper Towns premiering this month, its unsurprising that everyone has been talking about Cara Delevingne. Cast as the enigmatic Margo Roth Spieglman, Delevingne had previously made a name for herself in the fashion industry, having previously modelled for Burberry, Victoria’s Secret and Chanel.
With this experience under her belt, it is unsurprising that Delevingne has learned a thing or two about fashion.
With her signature eyebrows, statuesque figure and edgy sense of style, Delevingne will no doubt help her to become a permanent fixture in the world of acting.
Delevingne has said in numerous interviews that she considers herself to be a tomboy. This has shown in most of her outfit choices. While Delevingne opted for black skinny jeans and a blazer, she dressed her look up with subtle embellishments that helped to “dress up” her outfit in order to keep it from looking too drab.
She made a wise choice of choosing a black blazer with big gold buttons, as they help to bring attention to the printed blouse she is wearing. To complete the look, Delevingne chose a pair of simple black open-toe heels.
Something that I have always admired about Delevingne’s sense of style is that she can pull off the edgy chic look effortlessly. Case in point, the Yves Saint Laurent sequinned cocktail dress she wore to the Paper Towns premiere.
The cutout in the dress speaks to Delevingne’s fearless and daring personality. It is important that you always incorporate little parts of yourself into your outfits, so that you don’t get lost in the midst of it all. I think Delevingne is successful in wearing outfits that hone in on her personality.
And the fact that Delevingne’s top is cropped and the print is checkered? Where can I sign up?!
What I love about this outfit is that it can be dressed up for a fancy night out, or it can be dressed down for going about town to do some errands. It is flexible and no matter how the look is shown, it garners a positive reaction.
