Someone who always looks flawless, whether she is on the red carpet or just going grocery shopping, is Blake Lively. She has stated in many interviews that she does not work with a stylist because she trusts herself to make the right style choices, exhibiting her boldness when experimenting with different looks.
That boldness did not go away when Lively announced that she was expecting her first child with husband, Ryan Reynolds. Since announcing that she was expecting, Lively has not once stepped out in frumpy frocks or sweatpants. Rather, she has continued to display her love of fashion, while celebrating the next chapter of her life.
As I had mentioned in my previous post, ponchos and sixties fashion are in this winter. And Lively is taking advantage of these trends.
Not only are they trendy, but ponchos also offer Lively the space and support she needs with her growing baby bump. She keeps this look exciting by wearing ponchos with eye-catching patterns and vibrant colours.
In the same look, Lively throws in looks from the 1960s. Underneath the poncho, Lively is wearing a short shift dress and pulls the look together with a pair of knee high boots. This casual pregnancy look is still stylish while allowing Lively to be comfortable with her changing body.
I am obsessing over the outfit Lively wore when she appeared on Martha Stewart’s show. Not only did Lively create an outfit that mixed together my love of midi skirts, white-on-white with a pop of colour, but she proved that you can still wear heels when pregnant.
To wear heels when pregnant, it is recommended that you know the preferred length of the heels so that you don’t lose your balance or injure yourself. Lively’s Christian Louboutin heels are chic but she did not choose a heel that exceeded her limitations.
Lively’s red carpet appearances thus far have been nothing short of elegant and daring. Embracing her latest role, Lively has meticulously chosen form-fitting gowns that accentuate her changing body and the life that she and Reynolds have created together.
Her red carpet choices also remind people that motherhood does not mean that you cannot be sexy anymore. Lively’s plunging neckline and form-fitting gowns are sexy and daring, fun features that are still applicable to mothers.
